When your nervous system won’t stand down
Anxiety doesn’t always look like anxiety from the outside. You may be dependable and productive while privately feeling on edge, bracing for the next thing, or spending a great deal of energy just keeping up. For some people, it shows up as panic or as avoiding places and situations that feel hard to get through.
Anxiety and panic are core areas of Amy’s work, including panic disorder and agoraphobia, along with the patterns that keep your nervous system on alert.
Who this is for
Adults 18+ located in Ohio who are dealing with ongoing worry, panic, or agoraphobia—or who suspect their anxiety is tangled up with something else. Amy is particularly interested in the ways anxiety can intersect with ADHD, trauma, mood changes, and hormonal shifts. If you are not sure what is driving what, that is okay. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or already know what is causing your symptoms. Part of the work may be identifying the patterns beneath what you have been experiencing.
What to expect
Therapy with Amy is warm, curious, honest, conversational, and direct. Sessions are a place to speak freely, understand yourself more clearly, and work toward changes that are realistic for your actual life.
Amy uses an integrative, trauma-informed approach that is tailored to the person, not a rigid method. Depending on your needs, your work together may draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. The methods matter, but so does the relationship. Amy wants you to understand why you are doing something, how it connects to your goals, and whether it is genuinely helping.
Telehealth means you can meet with Amy from a private space wherever you are in Ohio.
