When your mood is part of a bigger picture
Depression and emotional exhaustion don’t always arrive on their own. Mood can be bound up with hormonal changes, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, sleep, and chronic stress—and with the exhaustion of holding everything together for a long time.
Amy works with depression, emotional exhaustion, and PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), and she is deeply interested in the intersection of hormones, mood, anxiety, and ADHD.
Who this is for
Adults 18+ located in Ohio who are dealing with low mood, depression, or emotional exhaustion; who notice that mood changes seem tied to hormonal shifts or PMDD; or who suspect that what looks like depression may be overlapping with anxiety, ADHD, or burnout. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or already know what is causing your symptoms. Part of the work may be identifying the patterns beneath what you have been experiencing.
What to expect
Therapy with Amy is warm, curious, honest, conversational, and direct. The aim is a place where you can speak freely, understand yourself more clearly, and work toward changes that are realistic for your actual life.
Amy uses an integrative, trauma-informed approach that is tailored to the person, not a rigid method. Depending on your needs, your work together may draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. The methods matter, but so does the relationship. Amy wants you to understand why you are doing something, how it connects to your goals, and whether it is genuinely helping.
